Typhoon Odette affected and displaced half of those struck by Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. That is, 7.8M and 2.9M respectively, compared to Yolanda’s 14.1M and 4.1M, according to United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) Philippines.


Although Yolanda’s death toll rose to 6.3K, Odette has claimed 405 lives too many.


However Typhoon Odette destroyed a bit more houses at 1.36M than Typhoon Yolanda’s 1.1M.
The total amount needed to rehabilitate the homes and livelihood of 514 municipalities affected by Odette is estimated at $107.2M or almost 5.5 billion pesos.
