On April 18, 2020, a fire swept through Barangay 105 “Happyland”, Tondo, Manila, displacing hundreds of families. Most of these families are already experiencing difficulties due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) implemented as a response to the Covid 19 pandemic. Most of them are daily wage earners, and having limited mobility meant that their sources of income have also been blocked.
Today, PCEC-Philrads, together with iHelp and the PNP, delivered relief goods (food items) to 255 families displaced by the fire. These families are temporarily staying at Amado Hernandez Elementary School, Vicente Lim Elementary School, and St. Martin de Pores.
Let us pray for the plight of these families, and hope that they will soon be able to rebuild their homes and have resources to continue providing for their families’ needs.
